Darkness Awakened:
Order of the Blade, Book 1,
Stephanie Rowe, March 2012
Greetings to you on this beautiful Tuesday. It's not my usual day but the girls have always come to my aid when I was sick or needed someone to fill in for me on my blog day so today it's my turn to return the favor. Especially since I went to the library last evening and picked up Inheritance. It's a massive book and will take awhile to get thru so I may be calling in a favor in the next couple of weeks myself. Not to mention it's summer and I sometimes get side tracked with all the fun activities and get behind on my reading. This is what I read by the pool this week........Darkness Awakened by Stephanie Rowe
The Calydons are a race of ancient immortals cursed with a dark side. Each Calydon is destined to meet his soul mate, to be so drawn to her that he is unable to resist bonding with her through the rituals of his race but their destiny is to destroy each other and all they care about the moment their bond is complete.
Quinn Masters will stop at nothing to rescue his rogue teammate. To save his blood brother and ensure his brand of justice triumphs, Quinn will break every rule of his kind and partner with the sensuous, courageous woman destined to be his ultimate destruction.
Haunted by a brutal past, Illusionist Grace Matthews will risk everything to save her kidnapped sister, including putting her life in the sinfully capable hands of an immortal warrior whose ravaging kisses and intense passion propel her ruthlessly toward a fateful destiny she can't afford to believe in.
Ok, I know that I said I was done with the ink after the extremely painful tattoo (which I love by the way, thanks Dave) that I had done in April but if I had the opportunity to have tattoos on my forearm that flash onto weapons at my command I'd be all over that (I would have double headed axes in case you were wondering). I very much enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the others. I was very intrigued by the Illusionists. They have interesting talents and I found the fact that they can hurt themselves with their own illusions was kinda creepy. I would have done burnt myself up along time ago if I had that skill. LOL The powder that is unique to each that is left after an illusion was cool too. I think mine would be pink and sparkly. I recommend taking this series on vacation with you. They are the perfect length and they have a great story.
RATING: I give this book 4 chocolate dipped strawberries and several changes of clothes for Grace. Poor woman spent the majority of the book wet and muddy. PEACE
This book was given to us by the author for an unbiased review. Many thanks.
