Hey! @HeidiJoVT BLOWS Readers Away @NetGalley #REVIEW

Blow by Heidi McLaughlin is the start of a new rocker romance series that will blow readers away. I was drawn to the forbidden romance (who doesn't like the forbidden fantasy?) but I wasn’t invested with the lust at first sight trope. The beginning started strong introducing readers to Bodhi, but there was a lack of depth to the story that kept me from connecting with the characters as it went along. Blow was a good read - there are other books by this author I liked much better though.

BLURB
Meet the complicated men behind the sexiest boy band in America! In Blow, the start of an
emotionally charged series from bestselling author Heidi McLaughlin, an insatiable heartthrob gets blinded by the spotlight—and learns to fight for love.

Bodhi McKnight has always had everything handed to him on a silver platter: fame, success, money, girls. The raven-haired, blue-eyed hottie is the son of Hollywood A-listers, and when he's asked to join the boy band Virtuous Paradox, his star shoots even higher. But so do expectations, leading Bodhi down a destructive path of addiction—until a drop-dead gorgeous guardian angel shows him her sizzling brand of tough love.

When Bodhi ends up in rehab, he doesn't expect to meet someone as cool and down-to-earth as Kimberly Gordon. Although he's enjoyed the company of beautiful, charming women before, none of them have tried to get to know the “real” Bodhi. But Kimberly isn't fazed by his stardom. She'd rather go horseback riding, teach Bodhi to play guitar, or ask him about his feelings. Soon Bodhi realizes he's fallen head over heels for her. He just hopes that he's strong enough to protect what they have from all the pressures and temptations of the outside world.

#REVIEW: Dirty *Dive Bar Series* @KylieScottbooks

Christmas came early this year! Kylie Scott started a new series and its as fabulous as the first! Yea for us! If you love hot alpha men with tattoos and a propensity for getting down dirty, hurry up and download Dirty (Dive Bar #1) and get reading. It's so great and sets the scene for more books to come in the series.

Dirty by Kylie Scott
The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.

Lydia Green doesn't know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?

A @NetGalley #Review: VINTAGE @LisaSuzanne24

Vintage (Vintage #1) by Lisa Suzanne has an original take on the rock star romance... sexy intrigue at its yummiest!

Born the daughter of a rock star and his groupie, my life should have been full of glitz and glamour. But the excess and embarrassment of that life didn’t interest me. Instead, I killed time at Vintage, a record store where I stocked shelves and lacked ambition.

Everything changed the moment I pressed play. One simple lyric awakened me.

When I stopped denying my attraction to the man behind the music, I started questioning his intentions. We were meant to cross paths, but it wasn’t because of fate.

Someone was playing with our lives.

A @NetGalley #Review of Softer Than Steel @JessTopper

How could Jessica Topper top Adrian and Cat's story? I was a skeptic until I read Softer Than Steel (Love & Steel #2). Then I was a believer. I never thought I could like Rick as much as I did in this book. The author has a talent for delving deep into a character so readers empathize with their paths. And her knowledge in the subject matter incorporated in the stories (music industry, yoga, etc) casts the illusion of being part of the world as you read the book. I hope there will be more to the series.. I'll be waiting!

You have to find yourself before you can find love...

As rock star "Riff Rotten", Rick Rottenberg has enjoyed all the perks that fame can offer, especially now that he's reunited with his former band mate, Adrian "Digger" Graves. But despite his success, Rick is a mess. Still reeling from the death of his wife years ago and terrified his demons will end his career, he agrees to seek help for his anxiety.

Burned by a musician in the past, Sidra Sullivan has closed her heart to love. So when Rick walks into her yoga studio, she wants nothing to do with him--until the bad boy shows an unexpected soft side.

As Sidra and Rick work through their painful pasts, they realize just how strongly opposites can attract. But when a crisis threatens the delicate balance they've forged, they'll discover if their love is strong enough to weather another storm or just too broken to survive...

A Perfect Ending... Deeper Than Dreams @NetGalley #Review @JessTopper

Deeper Than Dreams (Love & Steel #1.5) by Jessica Topper is the perfect ending to Digger and Kat's romance. After reading book one, Louder Than Love, this novella tops it all off into the land of happily ever after.

Will wedding bells rock out for Louder Than Love’s most beloved couple in this Love and Steel novella?

Falling in love with rock star Adrian “Digger” Graves was a dream come true for former librarian Kat Lewis. But with a little help from friends and family—including Kat’s adorable daughter, Abbey—Adrian has planned an evening and a proposal beyond her wildest dreams.

The night before, Kat witnessed the triumphant reunion of Adrian’s rock band at Madison Square Garden. Tonight, he will escort her to the elegant, ultra-exclusive Library Lion’s benefit. It seems like a fairytale, but even fairytales have a deeper, darker side. When old habits return to tempt her knight in shining heavy metal armor, will Kat’s happily ever after come crashing back to reality?

NOTE: THIS IS AN EPILOGUE NOVELLA THAT PICKS UP THE DAY AFTER LOUDER THAN LOVE ENDS. This novella is intended to be read after Louder Than Love.

A NEW RELEASE #REVIEW! Sweet As Sin @JTGeissinger

Sweet as Sin (Bad Habit #1) by J.T. Geissinger went deeper than the average rocker romance. The depth of the characters will compel readers to continue reading the series. Like a chocolate covered strawberry, you can't stop at just one!

Twentysomething Kat Reid is loving life as an in-demand Hollywood makeup artist. She has absolutely no interest in rock ’n’ roll, but in order to pay the mortgage, she agrees to work on the set of a rock video for the world-famous rockers known as Bad Habit…which brings her face-to-face with Nico Nyx, lead singer of Bad Habit and Adonis in the flesh.

However, the fiercely independent Kat isn’t impressed by the hard-living, womanizing rock star. Release Day! #REVIEW of Wicked White @M_A_Valentine

Wicked White (Wicked White #1)
by Michelle A. Valentine

After his mother dies, rock star Ace White—lead singer of the red-hot band Wicked White—is done with the celebrity game. The phony people, the meaningless one-night stands: he doesn’t want any of it anymore. Quitting in the middle of a sold-out tour, Ace sets out to find some place—any place—where he can be alone.

Aspiring singer Iris Easton’s life has never been easy. First, her mother walked out on her when she was a kid. Now she’s buried in debt, weeks after losing her beloved grandmother. When a mysterious and sexy new guy moves in next door, Iris can’t help but be drawn to his soulful gaze. She can tell there’s something from his past haunting him—something he’s not telling her.

Just as Ace starts falling for Iris, the media go on a worldwide hunt to find the missing rocker. Will true love conquer all, or will the truth be the very thing that tears the couple apart?

REVIEW
Wicked White was a solid beginning to a new series. The premise is unique, not following the typical rock star romances. This was refreshing. And while I didn't fall in love with the characters, I was drawn into the story. Ace and Iris just never felt right to me, the connection didn't have that all encompassing pang. They had the physical chemistry but, even still, their revelations of love fell flat and the angst drove me to insanity. Some readers might like this and some may not.

This is the beginning of a new series and I plan on reading the next book. You should give it a shot too. Readers who enjoy rock star romances will want to grab this book. It's available NOW!

A @NetGalley #REVIEW of *Deep* by @KylieScottbooks

Deep (Stage Dive #4) by Kylie Scott RELEASES TODAY!

Don't miss a beat with the fourth and final novel in the USA Today bestselling Stage Dive series from Kylie Scott.

Positive. With two little lines on a pregnancy test, everything in Lizzy Rollins' ordinary life is about to change forever. And all because of one big mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the irresistibly sexy bass player for Stage Dive. So what if Ben's the only man she's ever met who can make her feel completely safe, cherished, and out of control with desire at the same time? Lizzy knows the gorgeous rock star isn't looking for anything more permanent than a good time, no matter how much she wishes differently.

Ben knows Lizzy is off limits. Completely and utterly. She's his best friend's little sister now, and no matter how hot the chemistry is between them, no matter how sweet and sexy she is, he's not going to go there. But when Ben is forced to keep the one girl he's always had a weakness for out of trouble in Sin City, he quickly learns that what happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay there. Now he and Lizzie are connected in the deepest way possible...but will it lead to a connection of the heart?

REVIEW
How many series can you honestly say that the last book is as good as the first? I could count them on one hand, and I've just added Stage Dive to my list. Deep takes readers deeper into the band dynamics and gives one of the band members the ultimate challenge. The relationship that develops does so unconventionally but no less meaningful. Ben and Lizzy forge a connection that will have readers melt at the glimpses of Ben's sweet side, once he discovers it. The funny moments with the band added great scenes and brought their romance into the middle of what has come to be a family.

What a way to end the series! I adore these guys and their partners.

M/M #REVIEW: Looking At Forever @AnnListerAuthor

Looking At Forever

The Rock Gods #4
by Ann Lister

Mick Wheland, Ivory Tower's bad-boy guitarist, has recently realized two important things about himself. He prefers sex with men over women, and the idea of a committed relationship doesn't scare him as much as it once did. He's seen the positive effects of love from watching his band-mates find life partners, and now he's thinking he might be ready for the same himself. The problem is knowing where to look for Mr. Right, and living out of a suitcase while touring with a band is not exactly conducive to finding real love.

Sonny (Rooster) Roostarelli leaves the seclusion of his Vancouver cabin, where he went to lick his wounds after a contentious divorce, and moves back to Los Angeles. He claims relocating to L.A. is for business purposes, but now that the dust has settled on his failed marriage, Rooster feels he might finally be ready to settle down – with a man.

A chance encounter for Wheland and Rooster on a busy L.A. street rekindles an old friendship between the two professional musicians. Rooster needs a short-term place to stay and Wheland has plenty of extra space at his hillside estate and that lands Rooster in Wheland's guest room. What starts out as a music collaboration opportunity quickly turns personal when the chemistry they have becomes too strong to ignore and soon the music they're making spills from the studio and into the bedroom.

The road is a grueling bitch musicians love to hate. Being on stage under the hot lights can sometimes be the only place they feel comfortable and alive. Can two high-profile rock stars make a life together in such an artificial world – on and off the stage... or will past mistakes and family secrets keep them from finding their forever?

REVIEW
Another book about the Rock Gods. And another sexy rock 'n roll romance with m/m deliciousness. Lister has her own hit on her hands with this series - she might not be a rock star in the music business but her series makes her a rock star in the book business. Don't miss out on this series.

Rock Gods #REVIEW Take What You Want @AnnListerAuthor

Take What You Want (The Rock Gods #2) by Ann Lister ramps up the heat.

Mega rock star, Alex “Zander” Metcalf is burned out after nearly two years touring with his band, as well as emotionally drained after his sexual preferences were exposed by the media. He is ready for a long sabbatical – alone, and retreats to the east coast island of Martha's Vineyard; leasing an oceanside estate.

Alex seeks the quiet lifestyle of a recluse to write new material for his band, only to meet the handsome estate manager, Chase, and his gorgeous fiancée, Danni, living in the guest house on his property. Alex's hope of solitude is soon forgotten when he discovers Chase has a repressed bi-sexual side that is aching to surface and Alex is more than happy to help him explore it.

What neither Alex or Chase expects is the emotional power of their chemistry expanding to involve the three of them when Danni becomes entangled in their passion. Alex believes he has finally found his perfect menage relationship with Chase and Danni.

Sometimes two isn't enough and it takes three to complete the union of a fulfilled love. But, will their new relationship be strong enough to survive when real life wants to punish them for their unconventional love? And, can they be confident in the strength of their love to take the 'happily ever after' they can only give each other?

REVIEW
Take What You Want takes the heat of book one and dials it up a few degrees. The Rock Gods series keeps getting better as another rock god finds his HEA. This HEA is no traditional romance though. Readers are treated to a non-traditional triad relationship, and the best part is that its about the commitment between the three and not just about a sexy fling. Of course, the book is still incredibly hot but its also tender and sweet and packed with the angst that keeps you flipping pages.

Loving this series! Can't wait for more.

Rock Gods #REVIEW Fall For Me @AnnListerAuthor

Fall For Me (The Rock Gods #1) by Ann Lister will rock your world.

Entertainment journalist, Ryan Pierce, meets the infamous bad-boy rocker, Dagger Drummond, and walks away with a great interview and a scandalous news bit that has the potential to turn the music world on its ear. Exposing the story would boost Ryan's career, but it would also come with the risk of ruining Dagger's privacy – and possibly his Rock God status.

The unlikely friendship that develops between Dagger and Ryan brings Ryan to question more than just his journalistic oath to report the news. It also forces him to take a look at himself and newly discovered feelings – feelings that make Ryan blind to the risk of becoming front page news himself.

Will Ryan find the courage to make a life decision to give himself true happiness with Dagger or take the path that would likely lead to heartbreak and destroy his career forever?

REVIEW
Fall For Me is the first book in The Rock Gods series and starts the series off with a strong story of two men falling in love. One man discovers his true self while the other is forced to reveals himself to others. I know there's a lot of rocker romances out there but none have ventured into a m/m romance with such compassion and sincerity. With all the components of a steamy romance plus the intensity of secrets and threat of exposure.

Review
Another Stage Dive romance... and another success! The uniqueness of each man's story makes this series fresh with each new book. The characters' personalities resonate both as secondary characters and when they move into the spotlight as the main characters. Each book is like visiting with old friends. But here's what made Lead so great... I've never read a romance like it. Jimmy and Lena definitely had a sexual chemistry and there was a mild, though palpitating, under-current. Still, the majority of the book was focused on how they grew into people capable of a real relationship. Without the distraction of sex, the relationship came to the forefront. So refreshing. And beautiful. I adored this book.

If you are a Kylie Scott fan, no doubt you've already read the series. What are you waiting for then? Get reading Lead. And if you haven't read the others, you know what I say... start with book one and dive into the Stage Dive series. It'll rock your world!

Excerpt

“Lena, you seen my old black Led Zep shirt?”
“Nope.”
“You sure?” His brows became one dark cranky line. The scratches on his face were healing well, thank goodness. Though it didn’t reduce my desire to throttle his mother on a daily basis.
“Yes. I haven’t seen it.”
Can’t find it anywhere…”
“And this is a surprise, how?” I slipped my hands into my back jean’s pockets. “Jimmy, you own more clothing than Cher, Brittney, and Elvis, put together. Things are bound to go missing.”
“Sure you haven’t seen it?”
“For goodness sake, what do you think, Jimmy? That I stole it to sleep in or something?” I laughed bitterly. Sure as hell, the truth deserved a good mocking. I’d sunk so despicably low.
I hadn’t even meant to steal the stupid thing, but the shirt had been mixed up with my laundry a few days ago. It’d been the first top I laid my hand on after stepping out of the shower, ready to go to bed. Without thought, I’d put it on and it’d been so soft, the scent of him lingering beneath the laundry detergent. Every night since, I’d found myself in it come bedtime. My shame knew no limits. And no, I still hadn’t quit. The words still hadn’t come even close to leaving my mouth.
He frowned. “No.”
“That I have some deep secret longing to feel close to you resulting in my stealing your shirt like some creepy perv?”
“Course I don’t fucking think that,” he replied crankily, reaching up to grip the top of the doorframe. All of his bulging muscles stretched the arms of his white T-shirt in the nicest way. It was all I could do not to start drooling, my heart beat taking up residence somewhere down between my thighs. And who could blame it? Not me. Maybe if I got laid, this would go away and things would return to normal. It’d seemed safer to avoid rubbing up against any men just in case I got carried away and started dating again. This new situation, however, changed everything.
“Well, of course not! That would be crazy.” And wasn’t that the god’s honest truth? Cray-zeee. Lock me up and throw away the key because it wasn’t like I didn’t know better.
“Just can’t figure out where the hell it could be.”
Angels couldn’t have smiled as innocently. They might have tried, but they would have failed, the dirty-mouthed, winged, little liars. “Jimmy, I don’t know where it is. But I’ll look around for it later, okay?”
“Yeah,” he said, and then added as an afterthought, “and stop looking at me weird.”
“I’m not!”

Rock, Rattle & Roll #REVIEW... Lost In Oblivion @CariQuinn @TarynElliottFic

Rock, Rattle and Roll (Lost in Oblivion #1.5) by Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn

Loving in fast forward...
Love on the fast track has been the definition of Harper and Deacon McCoy's relationship. In between studio sessions with Deacon's band, Oblivion, and building a new clientele for Harper's catering business, the newlyweds haven't had time to sleep let alone have a honeymoon.

Deacon convinces Harper that they need a week alone together before her business as well as a new album and tour swallows them whole. Since Texas has always held special meaning for them, they head to Galveston to recharge and remember what it's like to just be a couple.

A beachfront cottage, hours of alone time, and plenty of skin on skin action is just what the rock star ordered. Until the future once again comes much quicker than they expected, threatening to crumble not only their perfect honeymoon but also their brand new marriage.

REVIEW
This novella gives us a quick and flirty peek into Harper and Deacon's life post-matrimonial bliss. After getting settled back into life, they finally sneak away for a beach-side honeymoon. Their week is full of passion, completely rocking the hot sex these two have been known for, but its the emotional connection that the couple is still working on that makes this novella so good. When they hit a potential roadblock, there's definite conflict until they come to realize the gift they've actually been given. It's okay to move in fast forward, even if it freaks you out.

The only trouble I had with the plot was the time sequencing. For example, they'd leave the bar where they'd seen JP and then return a few hours later to be told it was her day off. I don't usually care about that stuff but it stood out a few times. Maybe that's a difficult thing to control with two writers. I don't know but I do know... it wouldn't keep me from reading more about Oblivion.

#REVIEW How We Deal With Gravity @TheGingerScott *SUPPORT #Autism RESEARCH*

I thought I liked Ginger Scott's books until I read her latest book... ‘How We Deal With Gravity,’ which released on July 8th. That's when I realized she's a freakin' genius author. I kid you not, I can count on my fingers the books that have touched me so deeply as 'How We Deal With Gravity'.

SYNOPSIS

When her son Max was diagnosed with autism, Avery Abbot’s life changed forever. Her husband left, and her own dreams became a distant fantasy—always second to fighting never-ending battles to make sure Max was given opportunity, love and respect. Finding someone to fight along her side wasn’t even on her list, and she’d come to terms with the fact that she could never be her own priority again.

But a familiar face walking into her life in the form of 25-year-old Mason Street had Avery’s heart waging a war within. Mason was a failure. When he left his hometown five years ago, he was never coming back—it was only a matter of time before his records hit the billboard charts. Women, booze and rock-n-roll—that was it for him. But it seemed fate had a different plan in mind, and with a dropped record contract, little money and nowhere to go, Mason turned to the only family that ever made him feel home—the Abbots.

Avery loved Mason silently for years—until he broke her heart…completely. But time and life have a funny way of changing people, and sometimes second chances are there for a reason. Could this one save them both?

Right, so that synopsis tells you what you're going to read but what it doesn't do is prepare you for what you're going to feel. From the very first scene, I was swept into Avery's world of raising her young autistic son. Having a son with Asperger Syndrome (a high functioning form of autism), I appreciated the authenticity of Max's behaviors. Living daily with his disability while cherishing his strength came across loud and clear even as Avery begins a relationship with Mason. It was such a beautiful thing to see Max seek out Mason, and to treat that relationship as pivotal in the growth the characters undergo.

By the end, through the tears, the losses, the successes and the touch-and-go reunion between Avery and Mason, I felt as if I was part of the story and knew these characters personally. Of course, Mason being a sexy musician only added to the heat, but it was the connection I made with Mason through his music and how he used it to connect with others that had the most impact.

This story is written so tightly. There is nothing unnecessary, no arbitrary moments. Everything builds on itself to create these magical moments that culminate in a beautiful ending.

An Absolutely Outstanding Read.

Overwhelmed By You @NashodaRose #REVIEW & BLOG TOUR @BookEnthusiast1

Overwhelmed by you blog tour banner

Love is ugly and secrets will destroy you.
KAT
I don’t beg. I don’t cry. And I don’t give second chances. Ream, the lead guitarist from the band Tear Asunder, deserves a gold medal for best dick move ever when he ran the moment he discovered my secret after two days of hot sex. Then he brings some chick to my coming home party from the hospital—after being shot. I hate him. Until … Ream’s six foot two frame unfolds out of the car after being gone on tour for eight months. I stared, unable to help myself. And in my defense, any girl would stare. It would almost be rude not to because Ream was the type of guy who stood out. Not because he had pink hair or shouted or was obnoxious. No, it was because he was the complete opposite. Subtle and dangerously quiet. If he spoke, you’d better hope he liked you because otherwise you’d be falling at his feet begging for mercy.

Except me … I don’t beg—ever. But when our eyes locked, it was Ream’s confident cold indifference that had my nerves shooting off like jet sprinklers. Then… Ream told me he didn’t need a second chance because he was still working on his first.

REAM
Sex is ugly. It’s using someone for your own narcissistic pleasure. I did it and I hated it—until her. She was unfuckin expected. Then I had to wreck our beginning with my screwed up past. I don’t deserve her, but I’m selfish and I’m taking her anyway. This is who I am and it’s too late to change me.

Review
This is the third book I've read in the series. The focus now shifts to Ream and Kat, two characters readers couldn't help but be curious about as their story begins in the background of those other two books. However, their story is still a bit confusing at the beginning of Overwhelmed By You. I had a lot of WTF moments and wondered if I should've re-read the other books since it had been so long. There wasn't much in the way of transitions but...

I couldn't help but fall into their story. These characters are intense, but not as lost as Logan and Emily. Ream and Kat are entangled in misunderstandings, half-truths, and a series of deceptions that worked against them to keep them apart. The best part (of any romance, really) is that their love and willingness to sacrifice for the other is what pulls them through their dark times. Readers can't deny that these two characters would do anything to keep the other safe.

Nashoda Rose has this way of sucker-punching you. Be prepared. Just when I thought the characters had gone through the ugly stuff and were coasting to their HEA, another plot twist comes along and can be felt in your gut. Then she still gave me a satisfying ending so I'll forgive the twist. What a story!

Her novella "With You" is the first in the Tear Asunder series, followed by the novel "Torn from You" and "Overwhelmed by You". When she isn’t writing, she can be found sitting in a field reading with her dog at her side while her horses graze nearby. She loves interacting with her readers on Facebook and chatting about her addiction—books.
