Fall/Winter TBR List

Greetings and salutations blog readers. I hope this Tuesday finds you all healthy and happy. I am about as happy as a pig in slop right now because I leave tomorrow for a long weekend with friends in Arkansas. One of my besties, Tina, is hitting the BIG 5-0 and Jenn and I are going to help her celebrate. So we will be hanging with the Mid-West chapter of the Guilty Indulgence Book Club. I have been busy getting the house cleaned and groceries purchased so my family doesn't starve while I am gone and I don't really have a review ready for you this week. So in place of that I thought I would tell you what I have on my TBR list for Fall/Winter.

First up: How to Drive a Dragon Crazy, G.A. Aiken
Release Date: 09/04/12
Dragon Kin # 6
Some things never go away, like vile enemies, bad ale, and annoying kin. Honestly, though, I thought I was finished with the one dragon I'd have done anything for: Éibhear the Blue, a big, gorgeous, blue-haired beast who thinks the world belongs to him. The world and, apparently, me.

If Éibhear wants to play the caring hero and travel into the most forsaken of Gods forsaken lands to protect the one woman who doesn't need it -- namely me -- I'll let him. Because while I'm trying to fulfill a ridiculous quest for a pushy god, I'm going to draw this overconfident warlord much too close, rekindle his fires, and enjoy every minute of his delicious defeat...

You all know that I worship at the alter of Shelly Laurenston/GA Aiken and this is one book that everyone has been waiting forever for....Eibhear and Izzy!!! (I am saving this one for the plane ride tomorrow)

Dark Storm, Christine Feehan
Release Date: 10/02/12
Carpathians # 23
Awakening after all this time in a world of absolute darkness and oppressive heat, Dax wonders in how many ways the world above must have changed. But it is how he has changed that fills him with dread and loathing. Buried alive for hundreds of years in a volcano in the Carpathian Mountains, Dax fears that he has become the full-fledged abomination that every Carpathian male fears, a victim of the insidious evil that has crept relentlessly into his mind and body over the centuries. But there are some things that never change.

His name is Mitro, the vampire Dax had hunted all these long centuries. Second in command to the prince of the Carpathian people he is the epitome of everything malevolent, and perpetrator of one of the most shocking killing sprees known to man - and beast. Even his friends and family weren't safe from Mitro's bloodlust. Neither was Mitro's lifemate, Arabejila, an extraordinary woman with extraordinary gifts. But now that Dax has re-emerged, so too has Mitro. The ultimate battle between good and evil has been re-engaged. Between Dax and Mitro, a violent game has begun - one that has marked Riley Parker, the last descendent of Arabejila, as the reward.

This is kind of a make it or break it book for me with this series. I disliked the last book so much that I couldn't even finish it. That might have been because I didn't like any of the De La Cruz brothers, but thankfully they are all done. This series has been a part of my life for so many years now I hope this book re-sparks my interest.

Fourth grave Beneath My Feet, Darynda Jones
Release Date: 10/30/12
Charley Davidson # 4
Sometimes being the grim reaper really is that. Grim. And since Charley’s last case went so awry, she has taken a couple months off to wallow in the wonders of self-pity. But when a woman shows up on her doorstep convinced someone is trying to kill her, Charley has to force herself to rise above. Or at least get dressed. She quickly realizes something is amiss when everyone the woman knows swears she’s insane. The more they refute the woman’s story, the more Charley believes it.

In the meantime, the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, has been cleared of all charges. He is out of prison and out of Charley’s life, as per her wishes and several perfectly timed death threats. But his absence has put a serious crimp in her sex life. While there are other things to consider, like the fact that the city of Albuquerque has been taken hostage by an arsonist, Charley is having a difficult time staying away. Especially when it looks like Reyes may be involved. Just when life was returning to normal, Charley is thrust back into the world of crime, punishment, and the devil in blue jeans.

This is one of my favorite series. I love Darynda's voice and the world and quirky characters she has created. Reyes Farrow has got to be one of the sexiest men in literature today!

Rogue Rider, Larissa Ione
Release Date: 11/20/12 (some sites say 12/06/12
Lords of Deliverance # 4
The prophecies were there but no one listened. Until now. They are the Lords of Deliverance and they have the power to ward off Doomsday . . . or let it ride.

Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues - and falls for - a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man that Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he's also the kind of man that can be very dangerous . . .

Reseph may not know his background, or why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian's life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian's neighbours are killed and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he's putting Jillian in danger. And once it's revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world with death and destruction, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

The last book of the Horsemen series and Reseph/Pestilence has been a bad boy. I can't wait to see how he gets redeemed.

Never Seduce a Scot, Maya Banks
Release Date: 09/25/12
The Montgomery's & Armstrong's # 1
Eveline Armstrong is fiercely loved and protected by her powerful clan, but outsiders consider her “touched.” Beautiful, fey, with a level, intent gaze, she doesn’t speak. No one, not even her family, knows that she cannot hear. Content with her life of seclusion, Eveline has taught herself to read lips and allows the outside world to view her as daft. But when an arranged marriage into a rival clan makes Graeme Montgomery her husband, Eveline accepts her duty—unprepared for the delights to come. Graeme is a rugged warrior with a voice so deep and powerful that his new bride can hear it, and hands and kisses so tender and skilled that he stirs her deepest passions.

Graeme is intrigued by the mysterious Eveline, whose silent lips are ripe with temptation and whose bright, intelligent eyes can see into his soul. As intimacy deepens, he learns her secret. But when clan rivalries and dark deeds threaten the wife he has only begun to cherish, the Scottish warrior will move heaven and earth to save the woman who has awakened his heart to the beautiful song of a rare and magical love.

I loved the last trilogy that Ms. Banks wrote and I am looking forward to some more hot men in kilts!

Well that's just a sampling of what is on my TBR list. There are many more but I didn't want to get crazy.

What are you most looking forward to this fall?? Leave a comment cause I would love to know.
