Rock On, Kylie Scott! #REVIEW of LICK @KylieScottbooks

Lick (Stage Dive #1) by Kylie Scott was Rock and Roll Romance done right. It's the Ultimate Indulgence even though Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.
BLURB
Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favourite son is sure to be a wild ride.

REVIEW
Let me just say it - I LOVED THIS BOOK! This is how a book should be written... good characters, good story, good pacing. I devoured the book as quickly as humanly possible (sorry boys, no dinner tonight, mommy is reading!). Now that I got the gushing out of the way, let me tell you what I loved so much...

The characters were well developed and without stereotype. Their personalities were unique. While the typical romance is the woman falling for the man and him blowing her off, this book doesn't take the traditional route. David has been in the business for over ten years and he's only twenty-six. He's tired of the rock scene and craves something real. He thought he found that and then was destroyed when Evelyn doesn’t remember anything about him, their night together or even their marriage.
"Let me get this straight, you don't remember anything?"
"No," I said, swallowing hard. "What did we do last night?"
"We got fucking married." he growled.
My heart broke for the bad ass rocker right then and there. And its this scene that shapes every decision he makes in the book. Though he comes to Evelyn's rescue when she's overwhelmed by the media and assures her he'll give her a divorce, David also flaunts his groupies around her, blames her when his brother hits on her and then sets his lawyers on her. The author made his motives clear though and there was always this sense that he cared for her and was hurting.

Now, Evelyn doesn't mean to be cruel. She had been partying for her twenty-first birthday, allowing herself one no holds barred night but she's a light weight drinker. Still, she feels a twinge over the days that follow as she recalls tiny memories from that night. As they come back together, readers experience their chemistry which is both sweet and hot.

Everything happens at a good pace. Nothing feels rushed, overdone or unbelievable. The secondary characters are great and I can't wait to get to know them better. Malcolm was a good friend and his interactions with both David and Evelyn were genuine. One of the best lines of the book though is delivered by Evelyn's BFF. She's a big fan of David's band...
“Whatever happens, do not break up the band!”
It doesn't happen though. Evelyn brings inspiration and David finds his muse again. Now, the important part is that Kylie has her muse lined up to get this series written and delivered into the hands of fans like ME!

Haven't read this book? Love New Adult Romance? Love Rockers? Then... what are you waiting for??
CHECK IT OUT ON goodreads.
