Ella has suffered enough heartache and guilt to fill one of her psychology textbooks, but she keeps that part of herself hidden behind a bubbly exterior. Until she receives an anonymous call while working the suicide helpline and the voice on the other end touches something inside of her that she can’t ignore.
Soon Ella and Quinn’s physical connection heats up, even as their deep and revealing hotline talks intensify. But by the time Ella realizes that her seductive jock and her sensitive caller are the same guy, it might be too late to save him—or to stop herself from falling too far.
*A companion novel to ALL OF YOU
REVIEW
Unique story lines are harder to find in the New Adult genre right now. Good news though! Christina Lee found it. The twist of fate inherent in the story is woven into the relationship-building between the two main characters. And while they struggle as typical young adults discovering themselves, it's not overdone. Ella and Quinn both move gradually to a place where they feel healed as the author slowly reveals their pasts to us.
Secondary characters play pivotal roles. The dichotomy between Ella's family and Quinn's family lends credibility to how each has healed from past trauma. And readers get the chance to visit with characters from the first book though it isn't necessary to read All Of You to enjoy Before You Break.
A sweet read that's more than first meets the eye, I recommend Before You Break to fans of New Adult Romance.
