We all have our favorite young adult series that we follow... all right, for some of us it's more than one. Our faves include Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy, PC Cast's House of Night, Alyson Noel's Ever, JK Rowling's Harry Potter, Stephenie Meyer's Twilight, and Melissa De La Cruz's Blue Bloods. There's more, I'm sure, and we'll try to touch on all of our favorites during this week as we provide a sampling to introduce some great books to those of you who have never branched into the YA genre. And, for those who've read some YA, we'll give you some other series to consider jumping on.
Whether you begin reading YA to preview before your own child reads the book or just out of curiosity, the strong world building, multi-dimensional plots and solid characters keep you returning for more great storytelling. YA books are truly an escape, a guilty indulgence of another sort, as they transport you away from everyday worries to an entirely new world.
