Lunchtime Romance: Heart of a Soldier

The Heart of A Soldier by Tamara Hoffa is a lunchtime treat.

Borough’s Publishing has a line of romance books called Lunchbox Romance – "delicious short Romances consumable during the lunch hour". The concept is smart since women have so little free time. And it really worked - I read Tamara Hoffa’s Heart of a Soldier in about an hour during lunch. At the end of my lunch both my tummy and my heart were satisfied.

This short story was different from the normal romances and I found it charming. The characters are in their late thirties with life experiences behind them and their dating seemed more genuine than the rushed approach most romances take. The story moved into a slow boil, simmered and cooled all in the length of this book without leaving the reader feeling anything was missing. It simply was a sweet romance with a couple now headed into their happily ever after.

RATING: 4 Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries
