For the past couple of years, Jake quietly watched Kristy in his gym. He doesn't care that she’s older than him; he wants her. When the virgin BDSM sub he’s hired to train ends up being Kristy, Jake almost falls apart. During the scene they play at the club, he fantasizes about getting her into restraints in his own playroom. But Kristy is shocked when she learns that the two men she desires are one and the same. Can Kristy who’s led a vanilla sex life, and Jake, who knows nothing but kink, find a future together?
Silken Edge was an enjoyable read with nice characters. The spicy cover and BDSM elements first caught my eye and I was intrigued by the older woman/ younger man scenario since it isn't overdone in this type of romance genre. The flirty interaction in the gym brought a fun aspect to the book and the gym/ bdsm equipment was quite tantalizing. For a moment, I was wishing I were Kristy!
The story moved slowly at first. I'm not sure we needed the background story line of her previous boyfriend because it didn't add much to the story and made the beginning go too slow. But the other secondary characters were a solid addition and I suspect they'll make a good couple for the next book.
There was an awful lot going on in the Silken Edge. At times, it seemed to go in no direction but would take the couple's difficulty and use it to bring them closer. Overall, it was a good read, especially for those readers who enjoy lighter BDSM books.
