I'm excited to be here - the place where I started blogging first as a reviewer before I became a published author - to be talking about my first self-published book.
So, who am I? Since August 2012, I get to call myself a published author. I live a life of contradiction... I'm a happily married carpooling mom writing erotic romance. It's almost naughty! I write in both the Contemporary and Paranormal realms, journaling the stories characters tell me (which are most definitely not PG).
My latest release that I'm here to promote today is Hold My Hand. It's an Erotic Contemporary BDSM Romance about Aubrey, a young woman filled with hurt, and William, a man who couldn't walk away. They're navigating through a relationship that may have too many hurdles... or perhaps not, as long as she can hold his hand.

Aubrey has been hurt in the past, discouraged and degraded by a heartless father. Still, William sees something in her that won't allow him to walk away. Instantly drawn to her but intuitive enough to take it slowly, he courts her. Then he bargains, persuades and seduces until he ensnares Aubrey with his commanding nature. He’s everything she ever needed but never had the courage to want for. Despite the fight she puts up in accepting William's lifestyle, the bonds he places on Aubrey give her a freedom she desperately needs. Together, they heal old wounds and find their perfect love.

Excerpt
© Hold My Hand, Paloma Beck, 2013
It was as soon as I laid my napkin onto the table that William turned serious. “You’ve decided that we can have a relationship.”
“Yes.” My eyes rested on the napkin that I’ve replaced on my lap. “It’ll be my first.”
“Your first relationship?”
“Yes. Of course you already know the other.” I was certain my cheeks were now flaming in embarrassment.
“The other? You mean the submission?” He mocked me, aware I didn’t want to speak the words. Maybe he thought to draw me out with his questions but I was too well trained to speak more than necessary. You never have anything useful to contribute.
I shook myself from my thoughts to answer. “Yes, the submission,” I paused to steel myself for my next admission. “I’m worried I won’t make you happy. I’ve no experience.”
“You’ll make me happy. You already have. I’ve already told you I’ll teach you everything you need to know. Together, we’ll each be more than satisfied,” he paused and I was all too aware of his eyes burning into me but I couldn’t look up of my own volition.
William reached across the table and his fingers stroked my chin before lifting it upwards. My eyes remained downcast but I could see his lips now. He licked them before he continued speaking, “I‘ll explain exactly what I expect, what I want and when I want it. And my instincts tell me you’ll become good at giving it to me.”

Oh, sounds juicy! Great excerpt! Good luck with the book!
ReplyDeleteThanks, @Lady Blade. :)
DeleteAs for his confidence I would have to say he is always dominant in all aspects of his life, but I don't think his dominance and confidence will pan out in this one. I think he is almost too confident that she will make him happy. I don't think she is confident because deep down a part of her is not submissive and I think she is worried that it won't make him happy if he sees that side of her. I think he is so confident because he truly is in love with her and wants to know more of her than just her submissive side. Thanks for the chance to win a copy and my preferred format is ePub. sbereza22(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteThanks, @Shannon. I enjoyed reading your perspective. William's confidence is a bit overwhelming for Aubrey.
DeleteI believe he sees something in her that will make him happy but he has to make her believe, because of her past hurts, it will take some doing on his part. (kindle is my choice)
