If you think you might be interested in reading a book along this weeks theme but still feel a little intimidated by the subject matter there are lots of books out that that are around the 50-100 page length. They can give you a little taste of the bondage without scaring you, they will tie you up but leave the paddle for next time if you will. One of those books is Dick Does Jane, at 86 pages it's just long enough and intense enough to give you a taste but won't send you into total subspace.

Dick Does Jane, Brynn Paulin, Resplendence Publishing, August 2011
See Jane Run… When realtor Jane Harper dated Dick months ago, something was missing. Even now, she knows he was holding back, but what, she has no idea. It doesn’t matter. He’s in her past, and she’s looking for what she truly wants—a Dom.
See Dick… Afraid to scare Jane with his real nature, Dr. Dick Anderson hid his dominant side, hoping to ease her into his lifestyle. Little did he know that what she really wanted was the very thing he’d needed most to give her.
Jane has been a bad, bad girl… And now, Dick is ready to take care of that problem. Carefully, he maneuvers her to his home, under the guise of wanting to sell it. Jane soon discovers his BDSM playroom hidden behind a lock and key. Before she knows it, Dick has her over his knee and she’s headed down a road toward pleasure she never imagined, with a man she never expected to deliver.
When Jane's boss tells her he has a house that needs to be listed she is thrilled, until she sees the address. The house belongs to her ex, Dr. Dick Anderson. Jane broke up the the good Dr. 3 months ago because he was to vanilla and he couldn't give her what she needed, or so she thought.
Dick Anderson knows he screwed up. He tried to be someone he wasn't so he could ease Jane into the lifestyle that he lives. When she breaks up with him for being boring he vows to get her back and show her just how Dominate he is.
This is one of those novellas that reads like a full length novel. The emotions that are evoked are so real and complex and very relatable. This story really brings into light the need for complete trust in a D/s relationship. Not only in your partner but in yourself as well. Having been raised in a less than nurturing environment Jane struggles with self-esteem issues and this makes it harder for her to give herself fully to Dick, to believe that he will accept her for her. While I felt at times this book and Jane's character specifically could have been less introspective it was still a very engaging story filled with eroticism and scorching "scenes" and made for a very good read. I give Dick Does Jane 4 chocolate dipped strawberries.
I had to download this book and read it after I got through your review! Oh my (fans self), what a ride! I totally agree with everything you said in this review, except I think 50-100 pages allows for some tying up and some paddling with just a moment of subbie space to spare! :) What an excellent read!
