Harvest's Pride, Harvest Moon
Shifting Snows, Snow Moon
AUTHOR: Brynn Paulin
PUBLISHER: Resplendence Publishing
I am thrilled to have been the reviewer to read Paulin’s
Phases books. Both were steaming sexy and great reads. And they also happened
to be my favorites of all the Phases books. Deliciously indulgent, that’s what
I’d call them both.
Harvest’s Pride, Phases Book 9
There was no pre-heat feature to this book. Harvest’s Pride started hot – grabbing the
reader in an instant attraction - and just kept getting hotter. The urgency,
heat and genuine affection jumped off the pages as Hanna unknowingly followed her
sister’s footsteps in finding her shifter mates.
Hanna, independent and strong, is searching for her sister
who disappeared while on tour with Harvest, a popular rock band. Unwilling to
let the disappearance go as easily as others, Hanna pretends to be a reporter
doing an interview on the lead band members Kaz and Myan. Hanna is able to get
on the inside easily enough but isn’t prepared for the attraction she feels for
the men. And little does she know the disappearance and the interview have been
an elaborate set-up so that Kaz and Myan can meet her.
Leaders of their pride, Kaz and Myan are delicious alpha men
– roarin’ lion shifters - who believe Hanna is their mate and plan to prove it.
She’s arrived just in time for the Harvest moon which means there’s no time to
waste. The men must claim her under the Harvest moon or risk waiting a full
year. So it’s no holding back as they convince her that she belongs with them.
Paulin wrote a
perfectly rounded out story in just a short book – something so many authors
flop at – solid plot, rich in detail and scorching hot with a tidy HEA. I just
hope there are plans to write more about the shifters in Harvest’s pride.

Shifting Snows, Phases Book 12
Readers won’t get the chance to put Shifting Snows down once the action starts on the very first page. This
story takes off as fast as the snow storm that hits Mount Elbert while Macy, a well-travelled
and successful photographer, is out capturing wild-life photos. When she comes
face-to-face with a snow leopard, Macy is smart enough to know it shouldn’t be
roaming the Colorado Rockies but doesn’t have time to consider more than her
immediate fate before the leopard charges her.
The leopard is actually the ever-so-dominant and sexy Sorin,
alpha of the Tavian Leap. After Macy faints and wakes to find this handsome man
carrying her, she believes he’s come to save her from the leopard. With the
impending storm getting worse quickly, he brings her back to his home. And
aware that Macy is his mate, Sorin introduces her to his partner Danel, along
with their friends Calin and Abel. Macy feels a connection to all four men, though mostly to
Sorin and Danel, and agrees to spend time in their home as she waits out the
storm. She quickly learns Sorin and the men share their women; and they all seem
to want her. Perhaps overcome by pheromones or perhaps not, Macy decides to live
out her fantasy of a ménage. It's steaming hot as she explores her fantasy
over – and over – and over again. But it grows from there as Macy discovers the
uniqueness of Tavian Leap and falls for these men.
This is another well written short story from Paulin. With a quick-paced plot, solid characters
all wrapped up in scorching hot sex scenes and a sweet HEA, Shifting Snows is a deliciously
indulgent read. And I’m hoping there are plans to write more about the shifters
in Tavian Leap.
