I also get the honor of reviewing “Condor One” by John Simpson today. I’d not read anything by Mr. Simpson before, but I assure you, I will be reading ALL of his books posthaste! I also hear from a little birdy named Tyra that Condor One is being made into a movie! I may have to have a private moment with President Windsor and his bangin’ hot Secret Service agent…I’m just sayin!!
Condor One, John Simpson, Dreamspinner Press
The Democratic Party's 2012 nominee for President, David J. Windsor, and America are equally shocked when he is outted by his opponent just six weeks before the Fall election. Following his heart, David chooses honesty over media spin and overcomes the obstacle to win the election. Despite that success, dark forces around the world begin to plot against him, and President Windsor's security is a must. Inside and outside the White House, Secret Service Agent Shane Thompson becomes the President's shadow, always present and silent, ever vigilant. As the two men grow closer, Shane does far more than just his duty – he becomes as vital to David's happiness as he is to the President's health. Together they realize they must find a way to balance the President and the Agent against David and Shane before stress and responsibility tear them apart.
You know, in a world where North Carolina passes its despicable Amendment One (Piss off NC, you suck!), John Simpson is a nice, sane breeze. How cool is it that President Windsor is gay and he’s got a rockin’ hot Secret Service agent protecting him? I mean, really. Isn’t that every gay boys dream? It may have been one of mine.. President Windsor has all of the perks of being the most powerful man on the planet, but he’s also got a lot of forces gunning for him. Shane keeps his cool through it all and takes care of his President like any Secret Service agent would, but he also falls in love. Mr. Simpson’s book makes you wonder just how many other Agents have or have had a crush on the President at one time or another? Kudos John! I loved the book and I’m really glad to find out that there are 4 more books in the series..and that President Windsor has a close family connection with another Windsor…King William….hey Daddy hey!!! 4 ooey gooey strawberries dipped in chocolate for “Condor One”…and ya’ll, check out the blurb for “Pain and Revenge”…Holy! Balls! I soooo want to read that!!!!
