One of our Favs is back! I have the first in a new series by Andrew Grey, Redemption By Fire and the book is as hot as the cover!

Dirk Krause is an asshole of the first degree. His life is a hell of his own making, and he makes everyone around him just as miserable. When he’s injured on the job while fighting a fire, he’s nearly unbearable to the hospital staff, and of course no one from his unit cares enough to visit.
Lee Stockton is the new guy at the station, so he gets saddled with the job of bringing Dirk a sympathy bouquet from the guys at the firehouse. To Dirk’s surprise, Lee sees through him like a pane of glass and doesn’t take any of his crap. Lee’s determined to get Dirk to stop being a dick just to push everyone away. When their fighting turns to fucking, will the fireworks shine brightly on a possible relationship or leave them with nothing but ashes?




Yeah I have to say I don't know that I would have gone to visit Dirk in the hospital either, he is such a douche in the beginning of the book that I wasn't sure he was redeemable. Then you meet his father and things begin to make more sense.


Now Lee could not have been a better guy, I would have latched onto him with both hands and not let go! Lee has Dirk's number from the get go and and he doesn't put up with any of his shit. He pushes him so far out of his comfort zone you can't help but laugh.

This book does what Andrew Grey always does so well, he captures the angst and the bitterness that denying who you are can bring. The sexual tension that he builds between the two men is palpable and leads to one of the most emotionally satisfying love scenes that I have read in a while. You may think this is a story about one broken man but in reality it is the story of two people healing each other with honesty,acceptance and love.

While I liked the ending I felt it left some things unresolved, Dirk coming out to his father and the council meeting about the fire house. I am hoping these issues are resolved during the next two books of this trilogy.

If you like hot firemen with some intense rescues, emotional angst and scorching sex thrown in then Redemption by Fire is one you don't want to miss.
