Game Misconduct
The Dartmouth Cobras, book 1
Bianca Sommerland
BLURB:
The game has always cast a shadow over Oriana Delgado's life. She should hate the game. But she doesn't. The passion and the energy of the sport is part of her. But so is the urge to drop the role of the Dartmouth Cobra owner's 'good daughter' and find a less...conventional one.
Playmaker, Max Perron, never expected a woman to accept him and his twisted desires. Oriana came close, but he wasn't surprised when she walked away. A girl like her needs normal. Which he can't give her. He's too much of a team player, and not just on the ice.
But then Oriana's father goes too far in trying to control her and she decides to use exposure as blackmail. Just the implication of her spending the night with the Cobra's finest should get her father to back off.
Turns out a team player is exactly what she needs.
REVIEW:
I liked this book... it was mostly a given when it was about a hockey team (my favorite sport!) but Sommerland did give me an enjoyable story as well. I haven’t found many books with hockey players so this was a treat - I could almost smell the ice. And even though there was a good amount of hockey talk, it wasn't more than the average person could pick up on.
There were a lot of men - we're talking mega menage - and Sommerland switched back and forth between first and last names so at times, it was difficult to keep track. And while I don't shrink away from menage, this seemed a little much. I liked Oriana, the heroine, and was worried where the relationship would lead when it started off as a means to an end for her. When five went to three, it made more sense and each man had a connection with her. And, without a doubt, the BDSM-themed scenes were steamy.
I immediately downloaded the next book in the series to read about Oriana's sister and her hockey players - so I guess what I'm saying is that it was good enough to keep me reading.

The Dartmouth Cobras, book 2Bianca Sommerland
BLURB:
Silver Delgado has gained control of The Dartmouth Cobras—and lost control of her life.
Hockey might be the family business, but it's never interested Silver. Until her father's health decline thrusts responsibility for the team he owns straight into her hands. Now she has to find a way to get the team more fans, and establish herself as the new owner. Which means standing up to Dean Richter, the general manager and the advisor her father has forced on her. The fact that their 'business relationship' started with her over his lap at his BDSM club shouldn't be too much of a problem. Their hot one night stand meant nothing! But how can she earn his respect when he sees her as submissive? Can they separate work and the lifestyle she's curious to explore?
Balancing her new life away from Hollywood, living among people who see her as the selfish Delgado princess, has her feeling lost and alone until Landon Bower, the Cobras new Goalie slips into her life and becomes her best—and only—friend. The time they spend together makes everything else bearable, but before long his eyes meet hers with more than friendship, reflecting what she feels. Which could ruin everything. Two Dominant men who see past her pretty mask and the shallow image she portrayed to the flashing cameras. A gentle attack from both sides that she can't hope to block unless she learns how to play. But she's getting the hang of the game.
REVIEW:
Defensive Zone was better than the first book in this series. Again though, mixing hockey with hot alpha Doms makes this book with its emotional threads is a keeper! Totally deserving of our ULTIMATE INDULGENCE BOOK AWARD.
We meet Oriana’s sister, Silver who is now back in town to take over the team for their ailing father. Sparks ignite between Silver and the General Manager Dean at the same time she's forming a friendship with Landon. While Silver came to form a relationship with both men (more menage - yum!), we also saw her grow into her own skin.
The sex in this book is equally hot - though her intimacy is a bit slower in evolving which set me more at ease. It was also clear that each man had a connection with Silver and seeing how the dynamics played out kept me reading way into the night.
I can only pray there will be more to this series. Sommerland hit her stride in the second book and I cannot wait to read more about the Dartmouth Cobras! Bring it on. After all, how can you write about hocket without making it a Hat Trick... waiting for book three...
