REVIEW
Solace in Scandal captivated me from beginning to end. From the very first scene, readers are swept up in Elena's story as the pacing easily takes you along her struggle to regain her life. With that sweet edge of angst and the air of intrigue and mystery surrounding the romance, it was a delicious story that I ate right up.
Elena and Alex are multi-dimensional and empathetic characters with colorful backgrounds. Though not obvious to them at first, they are truly meant for each other. Readers watch their relationship evolve as their attraction pulls them closer despite the shady history of their family's business associations. They are both hiding out on the heels of a public scandal and, as the title suggests, they find refuge and solace in one another.
And holy hotness, their sex scenes left me panting! There was a nice blend of sexiness and plot so that the evolution of their physical relationship was shaped by the growth in their emotional relationship. Nothing was overdone or written for the sake of sex alone. It was beautiful to see these two characters find what they needed from each other.
Everything was well wrapped up at the end and made me feel as if it were simply perfect. The author wrote a story with a tight plot, smooth pacing and passionate characters. What more could we ask for? Oh, the happy ending which left me smiling.
This is a definite recommended read, a true indulgence.
