BOOK TOUR: His Forbidden Submissive

Hola, Lovelies!

I'm so honored you stopped by to learn a little about me and my newest release His Forbidden Submissive. This was such a fun (and sexy!) story to write, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. ;-)

I'd also like to thank my wonderful hosts for having me here. You so totally rock!

Now on with the show, LOL...

What's my indulgence?
You mean aside from reading and writing scorching hot books? *wink* That's easy...

Starbucks!!

Mmm...

I swear their venti skinny cinnamon dulche lattes will be my downfall. The new cool lime refreshers aren't half bad either. I'm gonna go into serious debt if I don't get my addiction under control, but unfortunately, Starbucks yumminess is what my Muse needs to become creative.

Ugh.

If I don't give my Muse Starbucks, she doesn't give me story ideas. It's really sad, LOL. I've tried brewing coffee at home, but it's just not the same. I even got a French coffee press, and while it really reduces the bitterness of the coffee, it doens't give my Muse the same kick in the creative ass that Starbucks does.

My family teases me because half the baristas at MY Starbucks know me by name and drink. I walk in and they're all like "Hey, Brandi! Want your usual?"

It's sad. I know. If there was a Starbucks Annonymous, I'd totally be there every meeting, LOL.

What about you guys and gals? What's your indulgence, naughty or not? Dirty minds want to know. ;-)

Later, Lovelies!
~Brandi

BLURB
To find happiness, she must do something she swore she’d never do again.

Let a man control her.

After beating cancer, Vivian goes on a mission to cleanse her life. First on the list, kicking her cheating, controlling husband to the curb. Second, discovering the answer to a question that’s been haunting her. Is the love she harbors for Brock, her bad-boy brother-in-law, genuine or a chemotherapy-induced illusion?

Brock loves a woman he can’t have. His brother’s wife. To claim her would be a betrayal. He knows loving her is wrong but he can’t help it. So when circumstances bring them back together, he can no longer deny his forbidden attraction, and they unite in a fury of passion, lust—and bondage.

But Vivian isn’t prepared for Brock’s BDSM lifestyle, no matter how sexy he looks with his tats and leathers. After ten years with a controlling husband, submission is terrifying—but so is never being with Brock again. Submission or freedom? No matter which she chooses, her life will change forever.

EXCERPT
Joy and pain lodged in his chest like the blunt blade of a butter knife. The memory of that time, of Vivian’s uterus riddled with cancer brought back dark memories.
Oh god no. The cancer! Was that why she was here?
He grabbed her by the arms. “Is it the cancer? Is it back? Has it spread?” He’d shake the damn truth out of her if he had to.
“No, Brock,” she whispered, her voice so soft, her smile reassuring. “I’m not here because the cancer’s back.”
“No cancer?” He just had to make sure.
“None whatsoever.”
“Oh thank god.” Relief practically leveled him and he crushed her against him, clung to her, partly to feel close to her, but mostly to keep from falling flat on his ass. Holding her felt as damn natural as breathing. Her petite body fit perfectly against his. He never wanted to let her go.
As if he needed another sign he was screwed.
He tightened his arms around her, bent close and buried his nose in the crevice of her neck. Her spicy, floral scent combined with the sensation of having her in his arms again. The dual stimuli rocked his resolve, threatened to overwhelm his better judgment.
“Brock,” she whispered. “Brock.” Deep. Husky. Wanton. Seductive. Each word described the timbre of her voice. Each word doused gasoline on the fire raging below his belt.
Christ.
He pulled back, pushed her to arm’s length. Time to move their reunion along before he did something he’d regret.
Like her.

REVIEW

His Forbidden Submissive was like drinking a Venti Mocha Latte - a total indulgence.

The author gives readers the perfect blend of sexy and romantic, friendship and secrets. I really liked Brock and Viv with their rich history that made it easy for readers to connect with. Their angst with discovering if the one you love loves you back was only usurped by their off-the-charts chemistry. Sex scenes moved us through the logical progression of their relationship which was already established and made the quick pace more plausible.

At time, Viv's compulsion to run from her problems frustrated me but considering her background, it was understandable. And the interaction with her friend added dimension to her character readers would've missed otherwise. Viv was in the perfect stage of her life to try the new experiences Brock wanted to show her which lent itself to her willingness to step outside of her comfort zone.

Brock made Viv comfortable. He was her rock but it was Brock who needed Viv to give him direction. Though he's just like the cover depicts, he was slightly less confident than I like in my heroes. It was a good combination for Viv though because she might have not responded so well to him otherwise.

Like the Mocha Latte, His Forbidden Submissive was sweet as chocolate but it also had that bit of espresso bite to it too. Totally yummy and so deserving of our ULTIMATE INDULGENCE BOOK AWARD.

  2. Oh, goodness. My town doesn't have a Starbucks! When I'm out of town and come across one, this is me ordering, "Hey, okay, this is going to sound silly, but I have no idea how to order."
Super nice smile everytime. "Just tell you what you want and I'll fix you up."
"Okay, ummm.... Something cold, tastes like vanilla, and has NO whip cream."
Haha! Seriously, that's me. All three times I've been there ;-)
Now, my indulgence... chocolate, and buying books when I still have 300 I haven't read ;-)

  3. I have a gift card to Starbucks, but I've never been in one.
You should make that drink one of your heroine's favorites.
I know what you mean about stuff not being the same. Salads for instance. It's just lettuce, shredded cheese, tomatoes, and whatever else is a favorite. They just taste better in a restaraunt than at home. Why is that???
I indulge in a trivia game at Buffalo Wild Wings. I'm hooked, I love to play, but I'm going broke buying food while I'm there playing. I'm using up my book money. *gasp*
So how about I beg shamelessly to read His Forbidden Submissive.
