Anna's Diary Is All That

Remember when you were a little girl and you kept a diary of all those silly things you did, those crazy feelings rushing through you, and oh those cute boys.  Well, Anna’s diary is all that and so much more.

The Diary of Anna’s Submission by Jenika Snow is written from the heroine Anna’s perspective in the form of her diary. To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect but had high expectation because I so much enjoyed the author’s previous works. Well, disappointed I was not. Reading this book is truly like reading someone’s diary – there were times when I cringed and felt like I was reading thoughts intended to be kept private. The realism was masterful.
Anna is a secret submissive with desires she considers taboo, leaving her feeling ashamed.  Though she’s sexually inexperienced, Anna is consumed with the idea of allowing a man to possess her in the most primal of ways. She knows she wants to be at the mercy of a dominating man, one who can show her what it really means to submit but is torn by her belief that such acts are immoral. Then she’s propositioned by Master Felix, a Dom at the local BDSM club she once visited.  With this chance to explore her desires presented to her, Anna decides to engage in Master Felix’s training to learn the art of being a true submissive.

Readers follow along as Anna undergoes her training.  The passages are well detailed, baring her inner-most feelings and thoughts about becoming a submissive.  It is beautiful as her soul is set free and her true submissive nature is allowed to blossom.  I naturally felt empathy for Anna as I connected through the vivid imagery and analysis as she remembered events and scribed them into her diary.  I only wished at times there was more detail as some scenes that could’ve further built on the story seemed cut short or glossed over.

The Diary of Anna’s Submission is a quick read that you will not want to put down once you start.  With the unique format and tight storyline, this book is well written and highly recommended by this reviewer with a FIVE CHOCOLATE-DIPPED STRAWBERRIES rating. The best part is there’s no guilt about reading this diary.
