I've read/ listened to many Vanessa Vale historical erotica, and she knows how to write it well. This series is set in a fictional town with unusual marital practices. This book is the second in the series and is deliciously scandalous. With more subservient women of that time period, the premise was easy to sink into... and then relax and let the tingling begin!

REVIEW

Lara Adrian is a GO TO AUTHOR for me. Usually its paranormal romance, but I just had to check out a contemporary romance by one of my favorite authors. And I was most definitely glad I did.

Adrian's signature descriptive style comes out strong in For 100 Days. I fell right into the world she created - the secrets and lies, the steamy chemistry between the main characters, the sexy enigmatic hero, the strong independent heroine, the intrigue and everything that leads up to the cliffhanger ending.

What starts out as just sex turns into so much more but there's still a lot more of the story to come... I can't wait for the next book! This was 100 days of pleasure but the next sounds like 100 Nights of Revenge. I enjoyed the narration so much, I'll be waiting to listen to the next one on audio too.

Dirty, sexy and as hot as the Louisiana bayou, Devil's Mark is all about two lovers from the opposite sides of the track. Yet they couldn't be more perfect for one another. Aware of each other since childhood -with a eye opening encounter in high school- when they finally connect, it's electric. There's a whole lot going on as the plot arc thickens but the focus remained mostly on the HEA which is exactly the way I like it.

Megan Crane hit her mark with a second peak into her MC world. Looking forward to more!

Intense, provocative, shocking and completely addictive, the Gypsy Brothers and the cartel they serve are frighteningly seductive. When I began reading book one, I was terribly sad for this young girl but little did I know just how connected I would feel to her by the end of book three. Without a promise of a happy ending, the dark and bloody series -dare I say romance - is impossible to break away from. I simply couldn't read fast enough. And I hope by the epilogue that there will be more to come in this world.

Striker (No Prisoners #1) is a solid introduction into Lilly Atlas's MC world. Unique and well-written, I've found a new gem among the booming MC Romance genre. The main characters are both mature and don't follow the usual trope - they fell for one another but also had their own lives. Lila being a doctor (loved her nickname "Stitch") and having a camaraderie with the club added to the story. I look forward to more books on the other members.

Listening to the book on audio brought the story to life. I recommend it on audiobook!

The Southern Gentleman: Protective Instinct by Sweden Reese is one of the best domestic discipline books I've ever read. It's spankingly delicious!

Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. Nolan and Lola hooked me from their first introductions in the book, but then once they finally meet, the chemistry takes hold and I couldn't put it down. With the political landscape that is the setting for the book and those trying to hurt Lola, the tempo is quick paced and makes for an exciting story. And as the two main characters make their way across country, the slow build up and gradual development of a relationship is enticing. There's no rush here as they come to know one another - there's an obvious attraction heightened by the sexual tension that builds between them.

Nolan's belief in the man's role as head of household both bothers and intrigues Lola. Since she's not the meek daughter of a presidential candidate we might first think, she challenges Nolan. You know what they say about those who protest too much... anyway seeing Nolan provide a structure that allows Lola to reach her potential -to see them give into their desires fully- is what I'm most excited about for the next book.

Be ready for a provocative cliffhanger. But then exciting news! The author published both books simultaneously -such a smart move more authors should consider- so you'll be able to start reading right away. Which is just what I'm off to do now... book two, here I come!

#REVIEW: Filthy Rich @Raine_Miller Blackstone Dynasty @NetGalley

It's been a few years since I read Raine Miller's Blackstone Affair series. I'd almost forgotten just how powerful her author's voice can be, immersing readers into her seductive world. Then I read this new spin-off, and met a new Blackstone to fall for. Miller has a rare talent of creating characters you can actually feel. You know, they get all under your skin and finishing the book is something you dread. I appreciate knowing when I pick up one of her books, I'm going to be satisfied.

However, this newest book lacks the drama and suspense ever-present in her other books. The story was more simplified than I expected from Miller. Though she delivered a sweet (and hot!) love story, I wished for more drama.

Still, Filthy Rich is another indulgent read. And I'll be reading the full series as it's released.

Maya Banks was one of my gateway authors into the world of romance books. I adore her dominant males and the lost women who somehow win their hearts. This story -this entire series really- delivered a sexy tale in Bank's signature style. As always, I enjoyed the book but... this was definitely not my favorite of her series. It was good - just not great.  Still recommend this read.

Kenner has done it again. Here's another hot and sexy couple from the world of Stark International. Though quite removed from Stark's business, Dallas and Jane are just as sizzling. Their story is taboo, uniquely intimate and fraught with dangers. And their story is addictive. You won't be able to pick up just one book so be ready to purchase all three. While some of us have read them on ebook, others have listened to the audiobooks - and they're delicious either way!
