It's RELEASE DAY! Cat Games #Review @AngoraShade @Torquere

It's Release Day for Cat Games by Angora Shade!

She was quiet—an introvert, a thinker. They called her Mouse. But beneath her veneer was a passionate hunger and desire for those around her, and a longing to act out fantasies she didn't even know she had. After a brutal betrayal by her former lover, Mouse’s journey toward sexual fulfillment begins with a justified revenge led by Rayne—a dominant and more knowledgeable goddess—where Mouse experiences her first female sexual encounter and develops a taste for non-vanilla sex. Through Rayne’s guidance, Mouse is pushed to take charge of her sexuality and learn what it is she truly desires, allowing her to transform from a shy, timid creature, to one with claws. Tables turn unexpectedly, and suddenly the pupil becomes the teacher.

REVIEW
Hot... Spunky... Sexy... yea, pure panty-melting indulgence. This short read by new author Angora Shade uncovers one woman's journey to self-realization. It's more than sex. For Mouse, it's truly discovering her own strength. Under Rayne's more dominating instruction, Mouse finds her power as a woman. Sure, this is a short and sexy read but the author also manages to delve deeper. I'll be watching for more... the sneak peek at the end tells me there is more to come with Mouse and Rayne. Meow!

RATING
5 Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries
This book was given to us by the publisher. Thanks, Torquere!

Torquere Press Owner Interview @torquere # INTERVIEW

Hi all, today we are chatting with the new owners of Torquere Press. They were kind enough to answer some questions for us.

Be sure to check out their site:

http://www.torquerepress.com/

Thank you SO much for taking the time to chat with Torquere Press and it’s new owners today.

1. Torquere Press was the first all GLBT publisher, is this correct?

Absolutely! In 2003 there was nowhere to send manuscripts that were GLBT to have published in the ebook world. It was still considered taboo. So Torquere Press was started as a labor of love between to authors and a core group of authors published the first five books. In 2010, I, Kristi Boulware, came onboard as the General Manager and Submissions Editor. During this time the original authors Shawn and Lorna decided they wanted to retire and focus on their real passion. Writing! So in January 2015 ownership was transferred to myself and my fiancee Joanna.

2. How does Torquere Press set itself apart from other publishers?

Aside from being the oldest GLBT publisher in the industry. We consistently open new genres for our authors and readers. Torquere has a core “family” group of editors that word closely with their authors. We go above and beyond to form a close relationship with each of our authors to ensure they know they are truly part of the Torquere family. We have someone available and accessible at all hours to our authors and customers.

3. What's the latest trend in the GLBT romance subgenre?

We are seeing more and more desire for transsexual stories as well as other areas of the GLBTQ areas. Our industry changes day by day, which is why we ask our readers regularly what they would like to see published from us.

4. With audibooks being a hot trend, will you branch into that area of publishing?

We are actually already doing some audio books. We currently have two audio books out (Daddy, Daddy and Me by Sean Michael and Herc’s Mercs: The Bigger They Com by Ari McKay). We have one from Kiernan Kelly in production about about twelve more out there waiting on narrators to pick them up. It is a very exciting new opportunity for Torquere and we know our readers are excited about the process!

5. You have a fairly new YA division called Prizm, how has the demand for YA books changed over the last few years?

Our young adult/new adult division Prizm actually opened in 2007. We did a complete revamp on it about two years ago and it is building momentum by leaps and bounds. We have every genre in Prizm and also have mainstream non GLBT characters in our calls for submissions.

6. What does the future hold for Torquere?

Torquere has nothing but bright things ahead. We are growing by leaps and bounds, contracting new authors weekly and have had to bring on a number of editors/proofers to handle the load of new books coming out. We have added a huge number of new marketing tools for our authors as well. We are extremely excited for the future of Torquere Press and what we have coming for our readers!

Underground: Special Teams by @seanmichael09 @torquere #REVIEW # TOUR #CONTEST

AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
Keeping it Fresh

First of all, thank you Indulgent Bloggers for having me today!

I was asked about longevity and keeping my stories fresh. Well, you see, my characters regularly pinch my ass. No? Not that kind of fresh? ;)

Seriously, though, I am going to blame the characters. They keep showing up and I keep writing their stories. In the end, for me, that’s what it boils down to.

I will say that there are days when I’m tired or cranky (or tired and cranky) and uninspired and I just don’t feel like writing. Or that while I’m writing, the work seems clunky and boring, lacking that spark. I keep slogging through, because I’m a writer and that’s what I do. I write every day whether I want to or not. And usually, it turns out that the uninspired and clunky feeling I had about the work was actually just me and it reads just fine when I go back over it on another day.

That missing spark doesn’t happen all that often, though, because in all honestly, I love what I do. Writing is in my bones and it’s what I do, it’s who I am. I think loving what you do, whether it’s a creative endeavor or a non-creative one, makes a ton of difference. That love shows in the finished product.

I think that is what contributes most to my longevity, to my keeping things new and fresh for myself (and hopefully my readers!), the fact that, while this is a job, it’s the best damn job on earth and I love doing it with a passion.

EXCERPT:
"Do you want me to observe only this evening?"

"For a few hours at least. Jack has vouched for you, but it's important to learn us, how we work."

Hunter nodded slowly. If these people were forcing men to be subs, making them stay, abusing them, he'd be very surprised. This level of care didn't come out of a place of abuse.

"Let's go downstairs. I'll introduce you around. Ben wants to shave his boy today, head to toe, and he wants an audience."

"Even eyebrows?" That was some hard core shit. And wouldn't that surprise people who thought BDSM was all about whips and chains?

"Everything. This isn't a punishment, but Pete is having serious issues with hiding from Ben."

"Ah, Ben sounds like a very wise man." Inventive, attentive, a good master.

Hunt already liked this group. If it turned out anyone was being held here against their will, if they weren't on the up and up, he was going to be extremely disappointed.

"They're both learning, but they're getting there."

"Are they a new couple?" Hunt asked, watching Dan move around the kitchen, triple checking everything.

Jack answered him. "Yeah, Ben has been waiting for Pete for years, but the connection is new."

"I look forward to seeing them together, then. Watching their scene."

"It should be intense, emotional. Pete is a fighter."

Hunt nodded, already affected, just by the conversation.

Daniel chuckled. "Pete used to be a surgeon, and he had a breakdown. Went to work on a construction crew before he started working from home."

"Those high pressure jobs often produce subs, don't they?" The best sub Hunt had ever had was a man who ran a fortune five hundred company.

"You know it. We have a number of subs that are desperate to break, to allow someone else in."

"I enjoy a challenge." Hunt had to remind himself he was here on the job, not to find someone.

Jack grinned. "Me, I'm looking for a sweet boy, a good bottom who likes a hard fuck but isn't pushing constantly."

Daniel's laughter filled the air. "In other words, you're not looking for a boy like Keif?"

"Fuck, no. No, Keif needs an owner, not a Dom."

Hunt's eyebrow went up. "Keif?"

"One of our unattached subs," Daniel said. "He's got the need to be hard-used, broken down. No one man can handle him, no offense Jack."

"None taken."

"Is he here tonight?" Hunter asked, intrigued despite himself.

"He's with our group every night he's not on call."

"Is that a yes?" Because he hadn't heard a yes.

"He is here -- plugged, bound, gagged, and, I would imagine well-sounded by now."

Jesus Christ. A bolt of pure desire went through Hunt.

Daniel grabbed a case of water. "Come on, guys. Let's go down."

"Can I take anything?" Hunt offered.

"Can you grab the fruit bowl? I find fruit to be hydrating, erotic, and less messy than chocolate."

"You got it." These guys were pros at this hosting a BDSM party thing and Hunt found himself once again hoping they were all on the up and up. He wanted to play, not to make arrests.

Following Dan downstairs, he felt his anticipation ramping up.

Instead of a dark, club-like atmosphere, downstairs there was a room with couches and lamps, pillows. It looked totally normal, at least until he saw the cage in one corner. The massage table. The man kneeling, wearing nothing but a collar.

Hunter took everything in, eyes moving over the men in the room, cataloging them. The man in the collar had to be Pete, the slender, whip-like man looking on proudly, Ben. There were a couple of men sitting together, a few wandering. In the back, bound and ring gagged, cock stuffed was...

Wait. Wait. Hunter knew that shock of near-white hair, the icy blue eyes. He saw that face every time the SWAT team was called out. Keifer Magnessen.

Underground: Special Teams, Sean Michael, Torquere Press
When Hunter Simms goes undercover at an underground BDSM party, the last thing he expects to see is SWAT’s leading shooter Keifer Magnessen bound, gagged, plugged and very bare. He is immediately drawn to Keifer, and wants to get to know his fellow cop better. Much better.

With such a high stress job, Keifer needs to give up control on his down time in order to decompress, but it’s a secret he holds close to his vest. So, when Hunter walks into his chosen place to submit, he tries to cut and run. Lucky for him, Hunter is shrewd, persistent and quite possibly just the Dom that Keifer needs.

Can these two strong men find a way to make their personal lives mesh?

REVIEW:
I have been a fan of Sean Michael ever since I picked up my first Jarhead novel back in 2008. I know going in that I am going to get strong characters with an interesting story and some of the best sex I have ever read.

Hunter is a Detective who goes to a home BDSM party to check out a lead that the subs are being abused. Being a Dom, as well as a Detective, he has a personal interest in this lead. While he is happy to find the accusations are unfounded he is even happier to find Keifer bound and needing a Dom to take him in hand.

Keifer is a sniper for the SWAT team and needs a Dom that can understand his need to be taken out of his head. He has yet to find a man or Dom strong enough to handle his attitude. When Hunter sees to his aftercare against Keifer wishes he realizes he may have just found the Dom he needs.

One of the things I have always liked about Michaels books is the insight that we get as to why someone needs to submit. With Keifer, the high stress level of his job as well as the ramifications of sometimes having to take a life, he needs to give up control somewhere in his life just to be able to decompress. His books always take the time to explain the aftercare and the satisfaction that a Dom gets in seeing to his sub.

I would love to see another book with these characters, to see where they end up and the further exploration of their Dom/sub relationship.

Author Name: Sean Michael

Author Bio:

Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and pursuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."

A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.

Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.

On Fire by Drew Zachary @torquere #REVIEW #FIREMEN

April showers bring May flowers.  The weather is heating up and so are we!  Join us every day this week for our homage to hot, hunky fireman - who doesn't love a man in uniform?  The Indulgent Bloggers chose April as Fireman extravaganza - a week of assorted fireman stories so hot, you'll wish you had a sprinkler system!

On Fire, Drew Zachary, Torquere Press
On Fire #1
Take one tall, broad-shouldered fireman in his early thirties. Mix well with one skinny, eighteen-year-old college kid who lives for sex, and the results are sheer pleasure. Sam and Robert are about as opposite as you can get, aside from the fact that they're both into sex with guys. When Sam picks Robert up during Canada Day festivities, neither of them are expecting more than making some fireworks for the holiday. And the sparks definitely fly, especially since Sam is able to recharge his batteries as only an eighteen year old can. Robert finds himself both entranced and smitten with young Sam, who is bubbly and happy and can have more sex in the space of an hour than Robert can believe. But there's a world of difference between eighteen and thirty-two, as Sam and Robert discover along the way. Friends and family add to the difficulties they encounter. But the two of them come to realize that underneath it all, they have more than just a physical need for each other. The emotion that blossoms between them is soon as great as their first sizzling attraction. Drew Zachary, the author of Transforming Hades and Skin Deep, has written a romance as hot as the flame it's named after. Don't miss it!
REVIEW:
This was exactly what I was looking for for Firemen week. Two hot guys who scorched my Nook!

Sam is a college student who likes his hook ups quick and dirty. While walking around at Canada Day he thinks he has found Nirvana when he stumbles onto the firemen car wash. Let's face it there is nothing hotter than a wet fireman. When Sam spots Robert he almost blows right there.

Robert literally bumps into the hottest twink on two legs while finishing up his shift at the fireman car wash, now if he can just get sex on a stick Sam home before they are both arrested for public indecency it will be a miracle.

What starts out as just hot no-strings attached sex turns out to be so much more for both men. Sam and Robert are good now they just have to convince Sam's over-protective dad that Robert isn't a pervert and Roberts co-works that Sam isn't just using Robert, and everything will be good.

This book ended up being so much more than I thought when I started it. The development of the relationship while starting out quickly really takes time to develop. It was a great quick read and I for one was very happy to see there is a sequel.

If you like your stories HOT HOT HOT then On Fire is the book for you!

Thanks for the suggestion Cardeno!

In business since September of 2003, Torquere began as a general partnership, and incorporated in early 2007.
