Dare to Lie by Jen McLaughlin

Dare to Lie is the third book in McLaughlin's suspense series. Filled with intrigue and more delicious heat, the story focuses on little brother Scotty, a secondary character from previous book. Tender (and hot) moments between the main characters are interspersed with a gang war, but the balance is just right and made for a satisfying read. Narrators definitely delivered an entertaining experience. I'm hoping there's going to be a fourth book about Tate. Fingers crossed!

The combination of an author I love and a narrator I adore made this a guaranteed good listen. Seriously so good, it's out of control!

REVIEW
I confess that I've never read a Crownover book I haven't loved. And this is no different. Church was a man of mystery in previous books that I was dying to know more about, but Dixie was a background character I hadn't really paid attention to. Church and Dixie's love story was completely unexpected and perfect all at the same time. The chemistry was undeniable. With the touch of mystery, some action and even more sexy time, I was riveted.

#Review: Back Check @KellyJamieson #Hockey Romance @NetGalley

Back Check might just be the best in the series so far. With the whole gang involved, readers get to visit with old friends while watching as another hockey player gets taken down by love. Jamieson has infused more hockey time into the story too, but she doesn't lose the focus on romance. The newest couple will grab a hold of your heart. This is a great read!

Southern Texas heats up when four roughneck billionaires set their sights on love in the new series from New York Times bestselling author Jessica Clare. The first book opens with the brothers doing what brothers do - a sort of bad mouthing. It's a bit much (though having sons made this completely understandable) but it built up the relationship between the brothers which I loved. The focus is on the eldest Boone, and though it took him the long route to get to what I was thinking from the very beginning and while I didn't agree with his methods, by the end I liked him. And I loved him with Ivy. He is not your typical hero you read about in every book - it was refreshing... and a bit charming. I mean, seriously, could you imagine someone burning down a building for you? Now that's true love. ;)

My one complaint is the cover. It absolutely doesn't fit. Even when Boone does have his beard trimmed, I do not imagine it was ever this short. And come on, the suit? In all but one scene, Boone is dressed for the oil fields, not a board room.

Boone Price and his brothers know oil; at least, the dirty, backbreaking side of working an oil rig. But when their scrubby, worthless hunting land turns out to be sitting on top of one of the biggest oil wells in North America, they go from the rig to the boardroom and end up billionaires practically overnight.

Now with enough money to do whatever he wants, Boone is developing a taste for fine things. And the finest thing he's ever seen is Ivy Smithfield, local realtor. Boone's determined to buy her affection and show the world that he's more than just a dirty fool with a bit of money. Ivy's classy and beautiful - she'll make the perfect trophy wife. The Southern Gentleman: Protective Instinct by Sweden Reese is one of the best domestic discipline books I've ever read. It's spankingly delicious!

Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. Nolan and Lola hooked me from their first introductions in the book, but then once they finally meet, the chemistry takes hold and I couldn't put it down. With the political landscape that is the setting for the book and those trying to hurt Lola, the tempo is quick paced and makes for an exciting story. And as the two main characters make their way across country, the slow build up and gradual development of a relationship is enticing. There's no rush here as they come to know one another - there's an obvious attraction heightened by the sexual tension that builds between them.

Nolan's belief in the man's role as head of household both bothers and intrigues Lola. Since she's not the meek daughter of a presidential candidate we might first think, she challenges Nolan. You know what they say about those who protest too much... anyway seeing Nolan provide a structure that allows Lola to reach her potential -to see them give into their desires fully- is what I'm most excited about for the next book.

Be ready for a provocative cliffhanger. But then exciting news! The author published both books simultaneously -such a smart move more authors should consider- so you'll be able to start reading right away. Which is just what I'm off to do now... book two, here I come!

Blow by Heidi McLaughlin is the start of a new rocker romance series that will blow readers away. I was drawn to the forbidden romance (who doesn't like the forbidden fantasy?) but I wasn’t invested with the lust at first sight trope. The beginning started strong introducing readers to Bodhi, but there was a lack of depth to the story that kept me from connecting with the characters as it went along. Blow was a good read - there are other books by this author I liked much better though.

Maya Banks was one of my gateway authors into the world of romance books. I adore her dominant males and the lost women who somehow win their hearts. This story -this entire series really- delivered a sexy tale in Bank's signature style. As always, I enjoyed the book but... this was definitely not my favorite of her series. It was good - just not great.  Still recommend this read.

Kenner has done it again. Here's another hot and sexy couple from the world of Stark International. Though quite removed from Stark's business, Dallas and Jane are just as sizzling. Their story is taboo, uniquely intimate and fraught with dangers. And their story is addictive. You won't be able to pick up just one book so be ready to purchase all three. While some of us have read them on ebook, others have listened to the audiobooks - and they're delicious either way!

The Right and Wrong series is all right in my book. Lane Hayes crafted likable and quirky characters that readers can easily connect with and enjoy. While the series sticks with the same group of friends, each pairing is unique. Readers will fall in love with these men as they fall in love with eachother.

I listened to the audiobooks and am smitten. Go grab them. Enjoy and then come back and tell me what you loved most!

The entire series should definitely be read in order and savored. The suspense builds, the story branches out among riveting characters and I couldn't read the series fast enough. A sexy, fast-paced romance with unconventional characters and an unlikely coupling. The continuous action kept me flipping pages to find out if Reb could find the love he needed. Rebellious did not disappoint - this is a solid MC romance.

A quick read that grabs you from the very beginning, Ruthless is a good start to a new MC romance series. It's just the right amount gritty and sexy with a mismatched couple, the most unlikely of love blooms right on the pages and charms readers.
