Dare to Lie is the third book in McLaughlin's suspense series. Filled with intrigue and more delicious heat, the story focuses on little brother Scotty, a secondary character from previous book. Tender (and hot) moments between the main characters are interspersed with a gang war, but the balance is just right and made for a satisfying read. Narrators definitely delivered an entertaining experience. I'm hoping there's going to be a fourth book about Tate. Fingers crossed!

The combination of an author I love and a narrator I adore made this a guaranteed good listen. Seriously so good, it's out of control!

The series is progressing slowly, particularly his relationship with Wade, so patience is required for us romance fans who are used to immediate gratification. The embers are smoldering now though. That heat is picking up and I'm hooked on these men.


Small town—big problems. Jericho Crewe is back in Mosely, Montana, trying to deal with police corruption, interfering feds, his newly discovered family members, and, of course, Wade Granger.

He doesn’t really need a biker war on top of it all, but as the bodies start to pile up, it becomes pretty clear that’s what he’s got. Not only that, but Wade’s involved somehow, and as soon as Wade is a part of something, things that seemed clear become cloudy.

With the feds breathing down his neck, Jericho has to find his way through Wade’s maze of half truths and manipulations. It would all be so much easier if Jericho could think straight in the other man’s presence. Back Check might just be the best in the series so far. With the whole gang involved, readers get to visit with old friends while watching as another hockey player gets taken down by love. Jamieson has infused more hockey time into the story too, but she doesn't lose the focus on romance. The newest couple will grab a hold of your heart. This is a great read!

Dirty, sexy and as hot as the Louisiana bayou, Devil's Mark is all about two lovers from the opposite sides of the track. Yet they couldn't be more perfect for one another. Aware of each other since childhood -with a eye opening encounter in high school- when they finally connect, it's electric. There's a whole lot going on as the plot arc thickens but the focus remained mostly on the HEA which is exactly the way I like it.

Megan Crane hit her mark with a second peak into her MC world. Looking forward to more!

Southern Texas heats up when four roughneck billionaires set their sights on love in the new series from New York Times bestselling author Jessica Clare. The first book opens with the brothers doing what brothers do - a sort of bad mouthing. It's a bit much (though having sons made this completely understandable) but it built up the relationship between the brothers which I loved. The focus is on the eldest Boone, and though it took him the long route to get to what I was thinking from the very beginning and while I didn't agree with his methods, by the end I liked him. And I loved him with Ivy. He is not your typical hero you read about in every book - it was refreshing... and a bit charming. I mean, seriously, could you imagine someone burning down a building for you? Now that's true love. ;)

My one complaint is the cover. It absolutely doesn't fit. Even when Boone does have his beard trimmed, I do not imagine it was ever this short. And come on, the suit? In all but one scene, Boone is dressed for the oil fields, not a board room.

Boone Price and his brothers know oil; at least, the dirty, backbreaking side of working an oil rig. But when their scrubby, worthless hunting land turns out to be sitting on top of one of the biggest oil wells in North America, they go from the rig to the boardroom and end up billionaires practically overnight.

Now with enough money to do whatever he wants, Boone is developing a taste for fine things. And the finest thing he's ever seen is Ivy Smithfield, local realtor. Boone's determined to buy her affection and show the world that he's more than just a dirty fool with a bit of money. Ivy's classy and beautiful - she'll make the perfect trophy wife. The fact that she's sexy and funny is just a bonus.

Building on the first book in the series (see The Hero review here), The Protector spotlights another brother in his pursuit to find his father still held in captivity. The bonus is the love he finds along the way. With action and suspense surrounding them, this love story is fast and hot. I enjoyed this even more than the first book, and now can't wait for book three.

I read the book and listened to it on audio as well. While I liked both formats, there's something about the sexy southern voice on audio that draws me more deeply into the story. See my full review of the audiobook on my Audible.com Listener Page.

It's no surprise anymore when I read a Ginger Scott book that I'm going to love it. But with each book, it's as if the author digs deeper and the story is more intense, more emotional, more "real" than I expected. Hold My Breath is a tightly woven story of a couple's ability to heal from tragedy and reach for success. There is absolutely nothing in the book that was wasted words - the pacing was spot on and the romance absolutely perfect with its smidge of angst, sweet memories and scorching heated moments.

I think I say this every time I read one of Scott's books but... this might be my favorite so far!

Intense, provocative, shocking and completely addictive, the Gypsy Brothers and the cartel they serve are frighteningly seductive. When I began reading book one, I was terribly sad for this young girl but little did I know just how connected I would feel to her by the end of book three. Without a promise of a happy ending, the dark and bloody series -dare I say romance - is impossible to break away from. I simply couldn't read fast enough. And I hope by the epilogue that there will be more to come in this world.

The Kavanagh brothers are so very charming. Finally in book three and we get Kane's story. He was in the background for the first two books and my curiosity continued growing so I was thrilled to hear his story. And I love it more than I expected. Nora made the perfect partner for him. Their genuine interactions were both sweet and sexy. This book was good in both ebook in audiobook!

REVIEW
Suspense filled this book from word one. Jericho walks into the unknown when he returns home, and surprises come at him from every turn. Unraveling the mystery of how his father died and protecting a newly discovered family are his focus. There's a good deal of set up in this book, introducing characters and their backgrounds, which slowed the book down a bit. But I'm hopeful the next book will be even better than the first.

Another Kate Sherwood good read.

I slept with the wrong twin.
And all I got for it in return was a broken heart.
Oh yeah, and a baby on the way—there’s that too.
But I’m determined to make it on my own. I don’t need a man, thank you very much. Not rich, charismatic, and decidedly flighty Rex Roosevelt, and especially not his twin brother, Justin.
No matter that the gorgeous former military doctor makes my heart beat a little faster . . . and all spots lower than that pay careful, careful attention.
None of that matters. The Roosevelt men are dangerous and I’m steering clear.
The trouble is, Justin refuses to leave me be.
And deep down, I don’t want to avoid him.

REVIEW
A quirky premise and an endearing -albeit lost- heroine set this up as a good read. The twist with the father/ brother trouble towards the end was confusing as the abrupt changes in attitude weren't fleshed out. But most important, the relationship between the main characters was slowly developed despite both having that initial attraction. This was a nice read.

I wanted these men to find their HEA, was invested in their happiness and genuinely enjoyed the other people who were a part of their lives.

I can't wait to read more in this series. The author clearly laid the foundation for a magical world filled with unique characters and all sorts of sexual fantasies come true.

CHRISTMAS WITH THE SHERIFF is a charming and sweet Christmas romance. Set to a tragic background, the characters show resilience in allowing themselves to find their HEA. There were a few moments when the scene abruptly changed -sex was behind-closed-doors- and we went from Chase and Julia going into the bedroom to one of them having a nightmare, it was a bit jarring. The secondary characters added to the story, especially sweet little Maggie, and readers will find themselves rooting for this couple alongside their family. This is a great choice for a holiday book that leaves you feeling good in the end.

REVIEW

Such a sweet Christmas romance with all the right ingredients... a handsome man, a precious little boy and a special woman. The focus on Christmas and an Advent calendar gave readers a map through the story. It was such a great idea because all of the holiday preparations were traditions readers could relate to. And everyone loves a sweet love story during the holidays, especially one that pulls at the heartstrings so tenderly.

It was the first book I've read in the series -I didn't know it was part of a series- but I plan to go back a read the rest of the series. All of the secondary characters were unique and the secondary stories created enough interest to want to know more about them.
