Beyond Friends Didn't Go Beyond

Beyond Friends
Beyond Friends just didn't go beyond....

Beyond Friends by Xondra Day is a quick read with a lot of story missing. While I enjoyed the two characters and their story, I couldn’t help but think that I didn’t know enough about them. The characters lacked the depth necessary to establish a connection with the reader.
The premise is a nice one. Long-time friends and one-time lovers, Jack and Rain, come to a crossroads in their relationship. Each man has feelings beyond friendship for the other but neither is willing to admit it. So when a traumatic event occurs in Rain's life, he relies on Jack for help and the men begin a new chapter in their relationship. The question is whether they will ever be able to move beyond friends.

It’s a very short read and maybe herein lies the problem because there was hardly time for the author to develop the characters more.
