Forever Out Of (I mean, In) Blue Jeans

The romantic inside me l-o-v-e-d this book!

BLURB
One night stands are supposed to be forgettable... But what if the sparks are still flying?
Cort arrives in Blue Ridge with the prospect of a job he can’t resist: the rewiring of a plantation home. Digging into the walls of historical buildings to learn about them from the inside out is a passion he can’t deny. With his mind focused on catching up with his old friends and the challenge of ancient wires, a romantic set up is the last thing he suspects.
And he’s not the only one in the dark...
Blue can’t believe the man pulling to a stop in front of her house is the same man she met in a Savannah riverfront bar five years ago. Heated memories of their one night flood her, but the chill in his eyes remind her of the coward she’d been by leaving while he was sleeping. This time, she can’t escape him or the things he makes her feel. He’s in her space, surrounded by their friends, and every throbbing cell in her body is involved...
So’s her heart.
Angry words, angry sex, good food and cups of strong coffee all washed away by a Southern summer thunderstorm, and the road to forever has taken a turn...
Warning: Between the sheets you’ll find meddling friends, drunk cakes, a corset tattoo, and a Southern plantation. But, what you really need to be on the look out for is a heroine laying siege to a hero with nothing but her sassy mouth holding him against the door.

REVIEW
Forever In Blue Jeans is my favorite book in the Blue Jeans & Hard Hats series. Placing each of the past characters into the story, while also adding a few new and intriguing men, is always a good formula.
The main characters, Cort and Blue had a steamy one-night stand five years ago while both were on vacation in Savannah, Georgia. Now with a little bit of divine intervention and with a little help from their friends, they find each other again. The romantic inside me l-o-v-e-d this.

The shared history gave Cort and Blue a more solid foundation to jump into a relationship without readers thinking it was too fast. The development of their relationship was anything but. In fact, sex did not even come into play until nearly half way through the book – there were lots and lots of buildup and sexual tension between these one-time lovers.

The details behind each character created such a vivid impression of them as actual people, truly three dimensional, relatable characters. From Blue’s kinks (exhibitionism and tattoos) to Cort’s alpha male protective traits, these characters were unique but likable. And despite how different they were, they were still perfectly matched in the most elemental ways.

The emotion behind both coming to accept and trust the other after how they left things off so long ago was sweet. Any author who can make me feel the character’s emotions has done their job as far as I am concerned. Well done, Lissa. I was right on that roller coaster ride with Cort and Blue as they navigated their new beginning to a hopeful HEA.

RATING: 5 Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries
(of course, if we could have them with some of her special cake, it would be even better!)
This book was given to us by the author. Many thanks.
