Entangled in Monday!!!

Greetings and salutations ....and I guess this week celebrations!  I, too, am so very thrilled we have managed to provide readers our thoughts on all things romance - YA to Erotica and everything in between....for TWO YEARS!  How cool is that?  Considering the core of our group has been Tyra, Rebecca, Kim and I - with others contributing to the blog and more participating in the book club (yes, Virginia, there is really is a Guilty Indulgence Book club and we have had as many as a dozen romance junkies involved! For those of you who are in book clubs, you know how hard it is to get everyone's schedules to mesh, a book everyone can agree upon and then getting it read in time for the monthly meeting.....)

This year has seen some highs (fortieth and fiftieth birthdays, new careers, and well deserved vacations) and some lows (death, divorce, job losses and moves). Regardless of whatever happens, the GIBC bloggers are the greatest of friends a person can have: they pick you up when you are down, the cheer you on from the sidelines, they give you good reads to help you weather any storm and they know how to bury a body so it won't be found!  Just kidding on that last one (sort of....Kim).  I hope you have enjoyed our antics - we are a diverse and wacky lot who love our books as much as we love each other.   I hope you keep coming back again and again, especially this week cause we have LOTS of prizes and who doesn't like to win something??

So, onward to our spotlight: Entangled Publishing has a little something for everyone - YA to Sci-Fi, Contemporary Romance to Paranormal.  Check out their extremely user friendly site and enter to win prizes to help you indulge your guilty indulgence!!!!  Each day this week we will be spotlighting a publisher that has been very generous to us with books and encouragement. We will be posting two reviews each day and you will have the opportunity to win a prize from that publisher! We will also be giving shout outs to certain authors who have been with us since the beginning and without whom there wouldn't now be over 740 blogs posted.

Title: Flirting to Win (Anthology)

Genre: Category – Contemporary Romance
Length: 360 pages
Release Date: August 2012
Imprint: Indulgence

If you can’t take the heat…

Entrepreneur Libby Harris’s specialty is making her famous muesli. So when an Olympic hopeful invites her to his flat to make her delicious cereal, she’s bewildered when his brother Jack walks in, accusing her of trying to ruin his brother’s career. Libby has every intention of staying single, but with Jack around, no way can she suppress the personal pleasure she’s long denied herself.

Investment banker extraordinaire Jack Barnes’s attraction to Libby is instantaneous, but he’s raised his two siblings after their parents died in an accident, and it’s been all work and no play for as long as he can remember. He can’t let down his guard now—not when his brother is so close to the gold. But keeping Libby busy and out of his brother’s life challenges every ounce of his self-control.
Until now…

Neither wants a relationship, and though they can’t deny their incredible chemistry, Libby and Jack agree that what they have is temporary. So when things start to sizzle between them, will they be able to take the heat?

A limited engagement…

For two weeks Nina Breslin had passed an enticing stranger when catching the Baker Street Tube to go to work. So utterly sexy, and enticingly foreign, she figures he’s eons out of her league—until the day he makes an outrageous proposal.

Dr. Eduardo Ruiz needs a break from the heart-breaking reality of his job. So when he finally introduces himself to the vivacious woman he’s been admiring, he quickly realizes they could help each other with their sticky situations…and have great fun in the process.

They agree to an outrageous plan. For one night only, she’ll masquerade as his girlfriend to appease his overzealous family members, and he’ll accompany her to meet with her ex-fiancĂ©’s friends, pretending to be her attentive lover. Can they play by their own rules, or will they succumb to the pull of seduction?

The one that got away…

Seven years have passed since shy Lexie Peterson had her heart trampled by her teenage crush. When she comes face to face with him in London, she vows to stay strong against his charms. But there’s something about the man who has always made the impossible seem possible.

When Luke Marchetti walks into his flat to find Lexie in a negligee, all he can think of is having a little flirt and fling. But sweet, caring Lexie is all grown up now, and her determination to keep him at a distance makes him realize she deserves more than he can offer.

One kiss when they were younger ignited a passion that lasted seven long years. But is it enough to entice the two to take a gamble on love?

It is no secret that I love all things English and desperately miss London, so the opportunity to read this compilation of short novels, all set in my lovely London thrilled me to no end!  Fortune smiled upon me to discover that these three stories deliver all a romantic soul could want: clever story line, enticing characters and witty banter leading to sigh-worthy romance!

Natalie Anderson crafts some extremely well written stories.  Her characters all seem very relatable, with rich back stories that tug the readers heartstrings just right.  Each story has some similarities - strong female characters with complicated pasts, couples who fight the desire the eventually succumb to.  It is their differences though that make this anthology a standout - each story it's own creative entity.  The way each couple falls in love, despite their best efforts to avoid it makes for true classic romance - a modern take on the old school Katherine Hepburn/Spencer Tracy movie - a little funny, a lot witty repartee and all building to the perfect romance!

These stories fall more in the contemporary romance category and, while they are only about a 100 pages each, they read like a much longer novel.  I love anthologies for that reason - you have the ability to spend an entire evening with a book and complete an entire story before bed, rather than leaving off and trying to find time the following day(s) to finish.  The thread of Bronze, Silver and Gold was perfect for those post-Olympic blues too.  It would be impossible to chose a favorite story - each was different and had it's moments. Undoubtedly though, readers will love the "flirting" that occurs in every one, making even the most cynical of romance readers believe that the best stuff is what leads up to the happily ever after!
