Blazing Glory, Angelique Voisen, Evernight Publishing
Havoc's Crew #1
No one can hold a candle to Blaze. He's the only pyromancer in Havoc's Crew, and everyone knows Havoc’s Crew is the best magic outfit in Lyon city. When an accident leaves Blaze disfigured, all he wants to do is disappear. When a wave of zombies threaten the city it's up to him and bear-shifter Levi Black to clean the mess up, but the shifter seems more interested in him than the mission.

Blaze isn't the kind of man Levi would normally take on any of his runs, but he doesn't have a choice. The conceited pyromancer is supposedly the best, but the last thing he expects is a broken shell of man able to bring his protective animalistic instincts to the surface. Getting rid of the undead is the easy bit. The hard part is convincing Blaze he loves him even with his scars.

REVIEW:
Lets be honest, I choose this book for the smoking hot cover!

Levi is a bear shifter and meets Blaze under some rather intense circumstances, so he isn't sure about his reaction to the "hot" elementalist. But two months after their disastrous meeting Levi still can't stop thinking about Blaze.

Blaze got cocky and made the biggest mistake that almost cost him his life. Now the once confidant pyromancer is a shell of the man that he used to be.

The world that Voisen has created is unique. The combination of shifters, wizards and demons had an intriguing feel to it and makes for a world with endless possible storylines. While I enjoyed the premise of the book there were countless editing errors that pulled me out of the story and made it harder to enjoy. The members of Havoc's crew each have their own abilities and problems and exploring each will be interesting.

RATING: 3 Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries.  This book was given to us by Evernight Publishing.

High Voltage
Havoc's Crew #2
There’s a new player in Lyon City powerful enough to shut down the city’s electric lines and the job is right up Volt’s alley.

Volt isn’t always the easiest man or wizard to deal with. The only person sane enough to put up with his bullshit is his apprentice, tabby shifter Heath Bones, but even Heath’s patience is running out.

He wants Volt badly, but the elemental only cares about his work and his brothers at Havoc’s Crew. Quitting his job and leaving Volt is the best decision he’s ever made, right until he’s taken hostage by a major league demon.

Vanquishing demons, rescuing damsels, and ravishing them after is all part and parcel of being a member of Havoc’s Crew, but Heath isn’t just any damsel. The more Volt tries to sizzle his desire for his apprentice into nothing, the more it threatens to explode into high voltage.

REVIEW:
Kudos for another electrifying cover!

Volt is another member of Havoc's crew that he rescued as a teenager. However Volt had already had a run in with a demon that left the only person that Volt cared about dead. Since that time the only people in Volt's life for more than a quickie are his "brothers" and Havoc.

When Havoc assigns Heath to apprentice under Volt things change. No matter how hard Volt fights his attraction to his young apprentice, someone has noticed and it just might get Heath killed.

Heath is tired of being Volt's gopher and watching him take a different person to his bed each night. Finally taking matters into his own hands he quits, only to jump from the frying pan to the fire.

This second installment to the series gave us a little more insight into how Havoc and the crew came together. The epilogues in these books are great at tying things up and setting up the teaser for the next book perfectly.

RATING: 3.5 Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries.  This book was given to us by Evernight Publishing. Many thanks.
