Forbidden Fire (The Forbidden Trilogy, #2) Playlist
The tone of the three books in this trilogy are very different. In Forbidden Mind, the story is really focused on Sam and Drake, their romance and their quest for freedom. In Forbidden Fire, while those themes are still prevalent, the book is more of a revolt, so the songs for this book are less romance and bittersweet and more kicking-ass-and-taking names.
This energy is represented in Youth in Revolt, Enemy, Burn It Down, We Are Young, and Uprising. These are the kinds of songs you want to raise your fist to.
Luke and Lucy have started a revolt at Rent-A-Kid, but Sam and Drake have their own conflicts and drama. A lot is revealed about Sam's life and past, her family history, and her relationship with Drake in this book, and the ending has some heartbreaking moments, so a few of these songs are very emotional. Waiting for the End, Shadow of the Day and Hallelujah in particular.
I cried while writing parts of this book, even more so than in Forbidden Mind.
